Ben and I concluded his final class with a review of the materials in a fun movie, to watch the covered material on the government. We watched All the President's Men. We also briefly discussed what the Watergate scandal was about.
Ben and I completed his homework assignment and conducted a brief final exam and concluded our course in government. He also got the chance to review the summaries of all of our course material.
Ben and I reviewed the course material and discussed the final week and exam in the class. I also set up an assignment for him that included discussing the war of 1812 and its impacts and World War II and its impacts on the United States of America.
I taught Ben about American populism from the time of Andrew Jackson in the 1800s to the time of Donald Trump. We discussed how American government responds to populism and sometimes populism can be sporadic or permanent.
Ben and I discussed the 1960s cultural revolution in America and how it affected American politics, including the highly impactful events of 1968 and 1969.
Ben and I discussed the politics of the early founders. We reviewed our federalist papers and discussed what an energetic government would be as Hamilton discussed it.
Ben and I discussed American history and the politics of Thanksgiving now and then. We discussed the Mayflower Compact and how it differed from today’s government and how it was its foundation for America.
