Lesson Topic
Gravitational Force
Lesson Outline
Aiden used the PhET Interactive "Gravity Force Lab" to investigate how the force of gravity changes with changes in distance and mass. He answered the follow-up questions and we discussed. He read a scientific text from Isaac Newton and modeled the changes force with force arrows on diagrams showing changes in mass and distance.

Lesson Outline
Aiden completed the lab "Use the Force" where he experimented with magnets, a balloon, a cloth, paper clips and styrofoam to create noncontact forces. He answered the follow-up questions and we read about noncontact forces, gravity and fields. He completed the Investigation "The Pencil Dropped Around the World" which investigated the direction and time it took a pencil to drop in different locations around Earth.

Force Pairs
Lesson Outline
Aiden completed the lab "Bounce Back" which modeled Newton's 3rd Law. He diagrammed each trial, answered the questions and we discussed how each trial demonstrates equal and opposite force.

Force and Acceleration
Lesson Outline
Aiden completed the labs "Sticky Situation" and "A Balancing Act" and the Investigation "Diagram a Force". He learned about balanced forced, unbalanced forces, friction, free-body diagrams and net force. He drew free body diagrams to show the forces acting on objects and the net force for several problems.

How Traits Change
Lesson Outline
Aiden completed the lab "Model DNA" where he used paper clips and pipe cleaners to model DNA: the sugar-phosphate backbone and nucleotide pairs. He learned that adenine pairs with thymine, and cytosine pairs with guanine. He learned about a nucleotide. He answered the follow-up questions.
