We went over some test skills that she can use to pick up speed when answering questions on the ACT, then we looked at some topics of linear equations, midpoint formula, and distance formula.
We are going through multiple practice problems and concepts since she is taking the exam in a few weeks. Since she has been through the majority of this information, now it is a matter of reviewing, practicing, and practicing the tricks to increase speed and recognize typical ACT problems.
I went over the test taking strategies for the reading section with Julia. Then I gave her some practice drills to start implementing those strategies.

Julia did well in the reading drills, she got 7/10 correct on the first one, and 6/10 correct on the second. I am confident she will continue to improve.

Julia is finished with her practice ACT, She scored a cumulative 18. Within each section, she scored a 21 in Math, a 19 in science, and a 15 in both english and reading.
She still needs to schedule a practice SAT test.
Matthew and I reviewed the writing and language strategies and he completed a number of drills. Next, we went over the reading strategies again and Matthew did targeted practice with specifically literature passages.
Stephanie and I went over the argument analysis strategies and techniques that the SAT essay prompt requires. We then analyzed a writing prompt in detail and discussed the speakers use of persuasive elements and literary techniques. Stephanie then answered a few questions asking her to explain why those techniques were effective and which would be the most powerful for the audience and occasion.
First we reviewed the strategies for the SAT and then I answered Stephanie's questions about practice tests she completed for homework. Lastly, we completed a number of drills to continue practicing her strategies.
