Today's session with Kaitlin was focused upon the topics of the Crusades in Europe, spread of Islam, and the rise of the Aztec and Inca Empires in Central America (Mesoamerica) and South America during the 15th Century.
She has been consistent with her attendance and effort/classwork through the first several weeks of this challenging AP course.

The Renaissance in Europe, FRQ Crusades Question. Renaissance Period focused on secular pursuits: Art, sculpture , architecture, and scholarly works. Renaissance culture emphasized innovation/creativity and independence. Extraordinary works of Michaelangelo, da Vinci, Raphael etc. New philosophy moving away from Catholic Church "control" and violent conflicts. The end of the Renaissance due to Protestant Reformation (M. Luther), and economic challenges resulting in less art being commissioned.
