Practice the letters and their sounds. Show the -ch, -sh, & -th cards and recall their sounds. Build short vowel words using these digraphs to practice sounding out words and blending them. Read Mouse Soup together and practice the short vowel words. Practice writing on white board the letters in Libby's name to practice where to start and form the letters. Practice writing 3 more words together. Complete a word family sheet.

Lesson Outline
Practice the letter digraphs ch, sh, & th. Use sound cards to sound out short vowel words parts. Review the sight word wall and play a sight word game. Read from Frog and Toad book Teddy brought in. Pick a page and have him find all words he can say or sound out together. Write CVC words that I give him the sounds for and include any with the digraphs practiced earlier.

Review the alphabet by writing the letter that matches the sound I provide. Write the upper and lower case for them. Read book about trust and find the sight words together. Practice sounding out words with short vowels.
Discuss how fables and fairy tales often have different versions. Recall what point of view is and how if the narrator is changed in a story, it can change the whole plot. Read an example of a fractured fairy tale and discuss how it is different and the same.
Do final practice with the homophones from last week. Go over the homework he turned in. Create fun strategies to help remember the words for the quiz.
