It was a challenge getting Christopher to focus on any work today after the long break. He told me all about his vacation.
With rubber stamps, Richard practiced his spelling words: people, pupil, other, pretty. We worked with words with ew. We played Bingo. Richard read books with words he can read.

We did a lot of talking today to help us transition into working again after the long break.
We discussed the kind of books Ben likes to read. He told me about The Bluest Eyes. I told him about books by Sharon Draper. He showed me some videos of amazing technology.
Today we met on Teams.
PJ did great. It was nice to see him in such a good mood. He showed me photos on his new phone of their trip to Disney.
Then we got started on a review of the Order of Operations. PJ did excellently with this topic before break. So I wanted to start him off with something to serve as a review, that was easy enough for him to get going. We did a maze of problems that the solution led us to a new problem. PJ worked out loud, explaining to me each step of the way as I wrote it out. We weren't able to complete the activity but we got through a lot of great problems.
Today Andrew was 30 minutes late to class. We are meeting on Teams today. We were able to discuss the Perpendicular Bisector Theorem. If a point lies on the perpendicular bisector of a line segment, it will be equidistant from its endpoints. We used the scenario of two schools in a city and where we could place a high school that would be equal in distance from the two schools. We noticed it would have to be on the perpendicular bisector to make that work.
In lieu of today's class, I took a video and sent it via Teams Chat. Then I worked out several examples on an activity. I sent it to Carson and I've asked him to read through my examples, and then attempt the other problems on his own. If he has difficulty or questions, he can text me via Teams Chat and I will help him work through the problems.
We met on Teams today. We chatted about the break and then got started. We covered 1.6 Solving Equations. We reviewed the order of operations, how to work with fractions in equations, and what happens when we do not reach a solution. We reached solutions such as zero, no solution, and infinite solutions. JPaul needed reminders to slow down. He made several errors as he worked through the problems, simply because he was going "too fast" and making mistakes he could have caught had he been more mindful each step.
We met on Teams today..
We chatted about the break and then got started. We covered 1.6 Solving Equations. These are problems Matthew has seen in the past, but it has been a while, so it proved to be a good review. We reviewed the order of operations, how to work with fractions in equations, and what happens when we do not reach a solution. We reached solutions such as zero, no solution, and infinite solutions.
