Ben and I have the best session we have had yet. We discussed in depth, the nature and business structure of Nvidia as a company. We also discussed how Nvidia competes with the likes of Apple, Google, Microsoft and Intel. We discussed the saturation of the semiconductor market and talked about how one could invest in the various magnificent seven stock prices and companies.
Lucas and I worked on footwork and hand eye coordination. We also played Horse together as a form of shooting drills. We had the chance to play one on one for three games, which was also quite fun. Lastly, we worked on three-point shots and he told me about his big game in the championship. Congrats, Lucas.
Ben and I discussed the money to supply and hold the federal reserve of the United States by managing it. We talked about quantitative reasoning and quantitative tightening and interest rate management.
Ben and I discussed in detail what currency is used for, how currency comes into existence, and who and what manages the flow of currency. We discussed how trade between nations exists and why trading even in ancient times still matters today. We discussed what money is and how it allocates scarce resources.
I worked with Lucas on Cone drills. We also worked on shooting from both mid range and long range jumpers and worked on our lay-up lines. Extra conditioning was at the end.
Ben and I discussed the introduction to economics. We got the chance to discuss what economics describes and what an economy is. We discussed how different countries and civilizations have had different economic systems over the years, including controlled free and semi free economies.

We spent some time talking about our weekend and then worked on vocabulary and grammar exercises relating to the video on Emotions we watched last week. Joshua was engaged and did very well!
Teddy and I learned about the oceans this morning. He referred to a chart on his wall as well as well as in a Children's Atlas reference book, and he identified the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the states that border it. Subject-specific vocabulary was introduced in the session where applicable. We looked at the world and the United States on maps and Teddy noted that there is more water than land. We also identified the other oceans and located them on the map. We reviewed cardinal directions using the map as a reference before adjourning this morning's class.

Teddy arrived 15 minutes late. His mom brought pastries and he had chocolate/jelly ones for breakfast as we examined the different maps in his room and in a Children's atlas. I subbed for Suzanne this morning, Tuesday 1/14/25, from 8:13 - 8:58.
Chris wrote his spelling words in his journal. We read Christmas in the Big House, Christmas in the Quarters and discussed slavery. He worked on writing his story on his computer.
Libby and I played Bingo with short vowel words. She used the sand tray and writing paper to practice sight words and long vowel words with silent e. I read a Tomie dePaola book to her.
