Libby used paintbrushes, rubber stamps, and writing paper to practice spelling sight words (on, the, and) and short vowel words. I read another Magic School Bus book and discussed the author and the illustrator.
Chris wrote his spelling words in his dictionary. We reviewed the story he has been writing and looked for separate sentences. He used spell check to make corrections.

We discussed how and why interest groups form in the first place. Do they support individuals or are they groups that then gain individual support? Are they good vehicles for change or are they not good for change and democracy?
Ben and I learned about political campaigns and how voters make decisions. We also covered interest groups and how they support and can hurt democracy. Happy Halloween!

Ben and I discussed civilians leading our military and why the constitution was built to have a civilian manage the military. We discussed the difference between that and how other nations manage their military.
Kaitlin wrote her spelling words in her dictionary. I introduced the essay for her to write. She wants to write about how Fahrenheit 451 compares to our current political climate. We read Fahrenheit 451 and discussed it.
