Chris wrote his spelling words in his journal and divided them into syllables. We started reading I, Robot and discussed it. Chris talked about his plan for writing some new Spiderman stories.
Libby used paint markers to write the letters I told her. She wrote all upper case. On writing paper, I had her write the letters that she didn't immediately know in the previous activity (D, E, G, J, K, N, V). We sang the Jolly Phonics song that emphasizes the letter sounds. I read Beetle Bop and discussed the author, Denise Fleming.

Lesson Comments
Libby was late again. She is getting better at saying her letters and sounds as well as writing them.
Kaitlin wrote her spelling words in her dictionary. We discussed the year that Fahrenheit 451 was written and a 50's TV set. We read the introduction to the book.
Libby used magic change color markers to practice her letters. She used rubber stamps of lower case letters to match with a paper with upper case letters. On writing paper, she practiced writing the upper case letters. I read The Cow that Went Oink while she held my cow and pig stuffed animals. She did a page matching the letters with pictures.
Ben and I learned about how a bill becomes a law. We talked about senate treaties, spending bills and consent decrees. We also discussed presidential vetoes.
