Ben and I studied the Politics of Florida, Texas and New York. We then discussed in detail how cities, suburbs and rural communities vote. We then discussed swing states in upcoming elections.
In a Case study, Ben and I dove into Politics of Florida, New York and Hawaii. We discussed the geography and politics of each state and why each state votes and behaves differently. Hawaii was a good case study.
Ben and I discussed how dynamic the political system is in America. We discussed how governments work in various environments. We discussed political nature of states and country as whole.

Chris didn't want to reread the story as I originally planned, but I was amazed that he gave a brief summary of the story.
Libby wrote letters on the boogie board. I showed her letter tiles and had her name the letters. I read Horton Hears a Who while Libby held the Horton stuffed animal. We watched the video of the book.
Chris wrote his spelling words in his journal and divided them into syllables. We reviewed the story he read yesterday and worked with words that are often confused (it's, its, affect, effect, there, their, they're, to, two, too).
Libby used Play Doh and capital letter cookie cutters to make letters and name them. I showed her lower case letter cards for her to name. I read Rainbow Fish while she used a puppet. We talked about the story for comprehension.
