We began class by reviewing some mechanics points from yesterday's lesson: apostrophes with contractions, its vs. it's; there vs. their, when to spell out numbers/use numerals. Bobby began researching and writing a 3-paragraph expository essay about a development in the world of sneakerheads (his topic choice).
Bobby viewed a PowerPoint on frequently misused words (ex. accept, except, all ready, already,) and he completed an online quiz. We reviewed his spelling words. Bobby should practice words at home for a quiz on Thursday and read a chapter in "Holes."
This morning we examined the Neolithic period in ancient history which is highlighted by man's sophistication of tool making and agriculture. We also discussed the implications of what happens to a tribe or group of humans who turned to farming as a means of supporting themselves. This forces them to become more sedentary which allows for the accelerated development of religion, architecture and greater organization. Homework is to read pages 43-47 and complete the questions on page 47; #'s 1-7.
This morning we reviewed Chapter 3 with emphasis on cellular devision through mitosis and cytokinesis. Once again, we distinguished between mitosis and meiosis and reviewed the questions on page 104. We started on the homework which includes #'s 1-18 on page 110. We will be having a chapter three quiz at the end of this week.
This morning we reviewed the homework from our last class and addressed some questions that Bobby had on the previous material. We completed the problems on page 198, #'s 3-14 before reviewing the homework. Homework: Complete #'s 24-35 on page 199.
Bobby makes slight modifications to his existing first floor plan. Next the electrical outlets are illustrated in each room. All access doors are located and drawn. The second floor graph paper is aligned directly over the first floor plan. On the second floor plan, the stairwell and exterior wall are drawn. A brief research of 14 exterior designs are examined to determine what direction Bobby will go. Great session.
