Bobby will show me his progress with the daily prompts. I will make recommendations on his work. In addition I will help him understand how to approach these projects. I will let Bobby know that there is a larger picture for these projects, he will be able to come up with multiple creative ideas quickly when called upon.
Bobby will be shown two videos, one on Todd Mcfarlane, graphic designer, comic book creator, and entrepreneur and the other on John McPheters, self-made entrepreneur and owner of Stadium Goods. These videos will show Bobby what happens when one uses drive, vision and passion.

Revising writing: importance of reading aloud to catch errors
Lesson Outline
We went over Bobby's revision of the Air Jordans paragraph, discussing why he still needed to make changes in the following areas: capitalization, apostrophe use with contractions, style guides on when to spell out numerals, eliminating redundancies.
Bobby completed reading the excerpt of "The King of Mazy May." He described the main character and told how he is like the main character. He related a personal experience where he had to overcome something. Bobby read two chapters in "Holes." We reviewed possessive nouns and spelling words.
This afternoon we departed from our regular lesson plan and spent much of the period setting up Bobby's subject notebooks. As promised, Bobby has a 3 ring notebook in which he will file his homework, classwork, quizzes and notebook paper each day. He will be charged with taking home the subject notebook for the class in which he has homework. Will coordinate with Dad and followup in study skills.
Bobby warmed up and stretched. Afterwards, he did bench presses, TRX inverted rows, ab bench crunches, flat DB flers, incline bench rows, slam ball, decline push ups, good mornings, medium ball sit ups, Russian twists, and cool down and stretch.
This morning we were able to begin the process of setting up each of Bobby's subject notebooks. This was a short session and we were only able to complete the math notebook. More will follow.
This morning we got off to a slow start when Bobby indicated to me that he had forgotten to do his homework. I asked Bobby how this was possible since forgetting to do your homework is like forgetting to get dressed in the morning. We discussed the implications of his forgetfulness which I believe is caused in part by a lack of consistency in his evening routine but also a lack of commitment to improving his organizational skills. We will continue to reinforce this idea throughout the school year. We spent a portion of the class doing the homework from the previous night highlighting how to find common denominators. Homework is to read page 191 and complete #'s 3-14.
This afternoon we introduced the concept of cellular meiosis which features the division of two diploid cells which contain both the mother and father's genetic material. We discussed how this process is different from cellular mitosis and reviewed once again the steps involved when the nucleus splits into two and when the cell membrane divides as well. Homework will be to read 97-104. We will complete the section question in class.
We concluded our study of the stone engineering that was found in the lost city of Petra. We learned how the residents of Petra built one of the first hydraulic systems that provided running water to much of the central city area including a large fountain and canal system found deep within the desert. They constructed over 125 miles of pipeline, which is truly remarkable. We will pick up where we left off in our text on Friday. Homework: none
Considering proper traffic patterns, Bobby arranges his first floor plan so that no space is wasted. Some things to consider in laying out rooms would be to have easy access from garage to kitchen when bringing home groceries. Another would be to have the pantry and dining rooms close to kitchen. Once all rooms are drawn showing wall thickness, the windows are illustrated using proper symbols. Great session.
