This morning we discussed some of the accommodations/recommendations outlined in the recent report on Bobby's behalf. Bobby was anxious to hear in greater detail some of the recommendations made by the psychologist. We discussed several examples of when visual/spatial impairment would be present.
Bobby will take the information that he typed up and that was revised and begin to create a layout for the about page. Goals - integrate a slider with content and links, add site logos, and add individual website descriptions.
Bobby has been assigned to come up with the layout and verbal content for the about page of the student website. Bobby has written an introduction paragraph and I will review it for grammar and filler, if needed. Bobby's goal with this paragraph is a deeper presentation of all the students' sites. I will work with Bobby further on the ideas of the students' sites.
Bobby was asked to create two paragraphs for today's session. For the first paragraph, he wrote about the game of basketball. He was given small pieces of paper to write his support ideas on. The instructor was the scribe as he dictated sentences about the topic. He used some great vocabulary words and he used sentence variety for this paragraph. For the second paragraph, Bobby chose to write about his shoe collection. Again he was given small pieces of paper to write his support ideas on. This time, Bobby did all of the writing. He read the paragraph to the instructor and we discussed editing both paragraphs at the next session. He was a diligent worker today.

Bobby was not present for the 8:30 - 9:00 A.M. session.
This afternoon Bobby previewed his movie presentation on the Ebola Virus. Clearly one of his personal favorites and with good reason. Bobby's initial effort was very good with eye catching graphics, sound factual presentation and informative. Areas in need of improvement were spelling, graphics or text transitions as well as some construction issues with font color, etc. I asked Bobby to construct a title page and a credits page and to add a soundtrack with or without narrative. Bobby and I explored some sound bytes and had fun comparing the sound texture with the subject matter. A good start.
This afternoon Bobby and I continued our study of Greek mythology while learning how literature and mythology embraced and communicated the culture of the Greek people. We examined the emergence of Persia as a rival neighbor and how the other Mediterranean countries came into being. Homework is to read pages 286-291 and complete #'s 1-4.
Bobby and the instructor discussed topics of interest for writing an essay. Bobby selected sneakers for his topic and brainstormed ideas for it. The instructor was the scribe as Bobby presented his reasons for selecting this subject. He will continue to work on this assignment at future sessions.
