Compare and Contrast
Lesson Outline
Bobby read brief descriptions about different species of sharks and fish before choosing one of each to write about. He chose a Megalodon shark and a Japanese flying squid to research further. Initially, Bobby determined all of the differences he could find between these two species which came easier than their similarities. The information was written in compare and contrast columns on his writing page to reference for further writing.

proportions
Lesson Outline
This morning Bobby and I practiced converting scale measurements into proportions by completing problems 12-24 on page 314. Bobby and I identified a simple two-step approach that we will include in our instruction manual as requested by Dr. Y. Bobby did a good job of completing the first four problems and appeared to grasp the basic concept in questions.

robotics
Lesson Outline
This morning Bobby and I accomplished two important tasks regarding our robot and our mantis. We took a census of our remaining population in the larger aquarium in preparation for transferring them to their new homes this afternoon. Secondly, we performed our first field test for the completed robot tank. This is the first of several versions of this robot format. We were really excited to see that the wiring or polarity on all motors were in synch with our controller and the robot performed flawlessly. Bobby performed some simple maneuvers including picking up and retrieving various objects and driving the bot around corners, in classrooms etc.

Lesson Outline
This morning Bobby and I continued practicing the problems on page 314 #s 1-15. Bobby's visual spatial recognition skills need reinforcement and this particular chapter has present challenges. I am not assigning homework for the weekend.

Lesson Comments
We need to reevaluate Bobby's latest schedule for a number of reasons: His is currently receiving instruction from two different teachers in two core subjects totaling 2.5 to 3 hours each on at least two days of the week. This would appear excessive and contrary to the recommendations made by Dr. Alexakis. Bobby is complaining of "sensory overload". Let's discuss possible revisions as soon as possible. Thanks!
