Early Americans Project : 2-week Project assignment on "Hardships Encountered by Early American Colonists". Custom created project to have the student research and report on various difficulties/challenges faced by early American colonists. 4 to 5 colonies will be selected and the project requires detailed identification of how colonists survived and became productive as well as which hardships were too difficult to overcome.

During today's session, Nico was given the first Social Studies 2-week project involving the hardships/challenges encountered by early American Colonists in the 1660's and early 1700's. Nico is very interested in exploring this important topic and mentioned that this is the first project that he has ever been assigned in Elementary school.

Graphing 2-Dimensional Inequalities on the Coordinate Plane: Method of plotting and shading graphs of 2-Dimensional XY Inequalities. Various demonstration examples of inequalities with greater than or equal to vs greater than using solid and dashed lines on the graph. Explanations why shaded regions are the "solution areas" and are data point that satisfy the inequality. Review of homework with inequlality word problems and graphing. Aiden benefited greatly from the extra practice with graphing various inequalities today.

Primary Elections, 3rd Party candidates: Closed primary elections limited to voters registered to Democratic or Republican Parties. 3rd Party candidates usually not included in Primary Elections. Caucus definition: Open voting in a large space "old fashioned" hand raising method. Primary elections as "testing grounds" to reduce number of candidates to be on the final (general) election ballot.
