A lab exercise was performed to see if air can be classed as matter. The lab involved precise mass measurements of balloons before and after inflation. The mass of air determined by utilizing the difference in mass between an non-inflated balloon in a beaker and the same balloon inflated.

Nicole figured out the method needed to determine the mass of air, set both types of balances to zero and was able to determine measurement to .01g. She is excellent in the lab, with hands on.

Trevor had questions re the video, which we discussed as it proceeded as well as after it was finished. The kidney video led into a discussion on hormones and the endocrine system, it function and chemistry. Both video and questions/discussion were geared to an appreciation of the complexities of the human system, and how each works is conjunction with the other
