Topic 4 Systems of Linear Equations and Inequalities
Lesson Outline
4-1 Solving Systems of Equations by Graphing – We learned to write a system of linear equations in two variables to represent real-world problems.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.
We went over homework that I sent Sam on determining the number of solutions in a system of equations. Then we practiced how to simplify and solve rational equations and radicals with fractions.
We went over homework that I sent Sam on simplifying equations with negative exponents. Then we learned that the complement of a set is the set that includes all the elements of the universal set not present in the given set. Next we practiced using the various properties to simplify radical expressions. We reviewed how to multiply by the conjugate to remove a radical from the denominator of a fraction. Then we focused on various algebraic and geometric applications that involve using, simplifying, and combining radical expressions. Then we applied the Pythagorean Theorem to find the hypotenuse of triangles.
