Sam completed 32 out of 40 problems from an Algebra 1 review. Then we discussed how to solve two equations with two unknowns through elimination and substitution. Next we determined that Sam needs to practice how to find products using the FOIL method.

2-1 Slope-Intercept Form – We reviewed the slope-intercept form of the line to sketch each line on a graph. First we labeled the steps to do this in our math notebook. Step 1 is to identify the y-intercept in the equation y = mx + b and plot (0, b). Step 2 is to plot the slope m as (vertical change)/ (horizontal change) the second point. Step 3 is to draw a line through the points. Then we practiced finding the slope of a line using 2 given points

Sam continued to practice solving problems on an EOC Algebra 1 Practice Test. He worked on factoring quadratic equations to find the roots and solved word problems involving finding the roots of quadratics. We also practiced simplifying variables with exponents.
Assignment: Complete the EOC Algebra 1 Test for homework. Circle the problems that you don’t understand. Do the homework problems I send you.
Cameron practiced finding the slope given two points on the line. Then he wrote the slope into the slope–intercept equation of a line. Next he practiced finding two points on the graph of a linear equation and calculating the slope or determining the rise over the run.
Assignment: Complete the assigned problems for homework we will check them tomorrow.
Andrew continued with exercises from the ixl website of algebra I objectives, evaluating numerical expressions involving integers. He is progressing nicely through some advanced level material.
