1-3 Solving Equations with a Variable on Both Sides – The properties of equality are used to solve equations that have variables on each side. Then we learned to identify whether linear equations have one solution, infinitely many solutions, or no solution.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.
1-2 Solving Linear Equations – We reviewed several problems involving solving linear equations. These problems involved multiplying by the LCD to remove fractions and setting up word problems. The assigned homework was completed in class.
1-2 Solving Linear Equations – We learned to solve linear equations with one variable using the properties of equality. Then we learned that linear equations can be used to solve mathematical and real-world problems.
Assignment: For homework complete problems: P.16 #11, P.14 Ex.2, #10
1-1 Operations on Real Numbers – We learned that the set of real numbers includes both rational and irrational numbers. The sum or product of two rational numbers is rational. The sum of a rational number and an irrational number is rational. The product of a nonzero rational number and an irrational number is irrational.
Assignment: For homework complete problems: P.16, 18, 22, 24
This was my first class with Isabella. She advised me as to her current place in the text. We proceeded to do problems with variables on both sides of the equations including the properties of distribution, proportions, and fractions. There was no assignment.
