We had an excellent session. The technology enabled David to explore and discover the important facts about lines and their relationships.
6-1 Rational Exponents and Properties of Exponents – We solved equations with rational exponents using the properties of exponents. We reviewed the Power of a Power, Power of the Product, Product of Powers, and Quotient of Powers Properties.
Assignment: For homework complete assigned problems.
6-2 Exponential Functions – We learned that an exponential function models the relationship between two quantities that differ by a constant ratio. Exponential functions are modeled using f(x) = abx where a - is the initial amount and b is the constant ratio. We became familiar with the terms asymptote, constant ratio, and exponential function.
We will review the first half of Algebra 1 using a topic by topic set of exercises. Today we will review basic vocabulary, algebraic expressions and order of operations. These topics are essential to continuing on in the study of algebra.

David is ready to move on as he has a good understanding of the topics reviewed today.
In the process, we needed to use many of the principles of algebra.
We discussed how equal signs are true whether read from left to right or right to left. We discussed why we often can not combine constants and variables.
Colson did a great job of working hard and paying attention as I explained things to him.

We will complete our study involving equations of lines. We will find the equation of a line given appropriate information about the line. We will also learn to change equations from one form to another. We will do a variety of examples.
