We went over how to obtain the equation of the absolute value function that has been translated horizontally, vertically, and stretched or compressed. Then we located points on the graph from an equation.
We will define the term function, look at examples of functions, and look at ways of displaying functions. We will work with examples and do some examples that do not involve numbers.

5-4 Transformations of Piecewise-Defined functions – We learned to interpret for an absolute value function, g(x)= a|x – h| + k. We practiced identifying the horizontal and vertical translations defined by h and k. Then we learned that the value of the leading coefficient a affects the vertical stretcher compression.

Solving formulas for a single variable involves a process similar to solving a linear equation. We will do examples. We will also review solving inequalities.
