We reviewed squaring both sides of an equation to eliminate a square root. We practiced using this method to solve a quadratic function. Kaitlin took a quiz on completing the square to solve an equation and did very well.

We have graphed functions, now we will graph relations so we can compare and contrast the two topics. Examples will be done and technology will be used (Desmos).

David was taking the MAP test during the first part of the session. We discussed magic squares in the brief time that we had together.
I checked Kaitlin’s homework on completing the squares. Tonight, she will make corrections to this homework. When she takes the square root on the right side of an equation, she needs to include the negative and positive square roots in her answer. Kaitlin also took a quiz on multiplying radicals.

We went over how to complete the square. Then we completed one of the homework problems from last night.
Assignment: Complete the assigned problems for homework, multiplying radical assignment from last week, and the homework from last night.
We will define absolute value. We will do arithmetic related to absolute value. We will graph absolute value functions and will solve absolute value equations.
