Cam was distracted and uncooperative. He made very little effort to learn the lesson topics.
9-6 The Quadratic Formula and the Discriminant – We learned that the quadratic formula can be used to solve every quadratic equation and is particularly useful for those that cannot be easily factored. Then we learned to use the discriminant to determine the number and type of solutions to a quadratic equation. Next we began to review for an end-of-course cumulative exam.
Assignment: Complete the assigned problems for homework.
9-6 the Quadratic Formula and the Discriminant – We learned that the discriminant of a polynomial is a quantity that depends on the coefficients and determines various properties of the roots. It is generally defined as a polynomial function of the coefficients of the original polynomial.
Assignment: Find the discriminants of the assigned problems and determine the number of solutions for each quadratic equation for homework.
We will do a probability simulation to test whether or not playoffs in professional sports give the better team a greater chance of winning a series when more games are played. As the number of games in the series increase, the better team does have a greater chance of winning.

We dis 15 three game series and the better team did win more series than if the just played one game.
Kaitlin took a quiz on squaring both sides to solve an equation and multiplying radicals. We discovered that when a quadratic equation can not be factored, the quadratic formula can be used to find the solution.
