Rowan greeted me by saying "I'm going to start working on my report tonight." He was supposed to start it over the last 2 nights. When I said that, he replied that it was not due until Friday (true), and that "you freekin' lied to me!" (that is was not due Friday, but today). I told him it was not due today, but that he needed to have created the outline. I showed him where it was written in his agenda, and he started cursing more. He continued with a severe tantrum for a few minutes. Later he admitted that he knew he needed to do it but didn't. So he planned the whole tantrum (with lots of profanity) as a diversion from the truth! It was quite dramatic and well-thought out.

Quinn was absent. Calendar -100 chart -reviewed numbers 19 on board. Played hopscotch with 20-25. Took a walk with JM and counted our steps in groups of ten until we reached 100, started over, and added all our groups of 100 steps to make 1,000 steps. Read Beauty and the Beast and comprehension worksheet 100% for everyone. Gwendolyn- read two stories in a Pig Can Jig and did three worksheets. Stephen - initial sound cards, Leap Frog fridge letters, Starfall.com. Anna-reviewed sounds of c,g,o,s,l,a,d, and initial, medial, end sound worksheet, read two Wright Books, Leap Frog storybook. Continued coloring castle - it is almost finished!

Stephanie seemed to do pretty well on the Algebra practice problems. Her father was planning to have her do a full length practice test Saturday morning - timed so that she feels pressure similar to what she will feel on test day. We are hoping that practicing under pressure will make her feel more comfortable when she takes the ACT again.
