As a follow up to Old Man and the Sea, I had Rowan write a 5 paragraph paper about challenges he's overcome. He's writing this paper without any help from me, and I couldn't be more pleased with his effort. At the beginning of the year he couldn't write a sentence without my input, and today he set up the paper, wrote a solid introduction and two solid paragraphs. His sentence structure still needs a little work, but his focus and effort are the best I've seen yet.

Rowan handled the pre printed questions extremely well. He was able to name the parent compounds and the location of attachments, even if he needed a little help in naming the attached group. He did the reverse also very well. There was time to begin the quiz, and finishedi it at the end of the class He did very wellon it

I stopped the videos at every concept and question, and tried to direct Rowan to the answer. He is able to answer if directed and questioned. I insisted that he not have his sketch book open or his phone and concentrate only on the questions and demonstrations. Once his concentration is directed, he can better answer questions.

using watercolors in paintings. Rowan finished his painting of a hummingbird today.

A little distracted today. The actual results were good. The percent experimentally was very close to the theoretical or labeled results. Most of the math had to be done by both of us.

Went over each step prior to lab and formulas. Worked each procedure step together. Stressed the handling of the equipment and how neutralization occurs
