Calendar - Reviewed geometric shapes. Took a walk with Ms. judie. Reviewed plus and equal signs. Created addition stories and wrote them as equations. Worksheet solving addition problems. Built roads with toy building materials - measured each road to determine which was longest, shortest-experimented to see which ramp incline made the cars go fastest. Individual work folders. Everyone read their individual word lists or sentences to me. Reviewed Earth Day.

Calendar -Discussed 'Earth Day' and read 'Our Beautiful Home' and looked at pictures on Google of earth from outer space - Who else lives on our planet besides humans - how do we share the planet with other creatures - introduce 'endangered' and why some animals are endangered - how can we help them? Created math addition/subtraction stories with cars. Introduced plus,minus, and equal signs and how to write a math story as an equation. Individual work folders. Everyone read their individual word lists to me. Completed watercolor paintings on canvas.

Stephen/Oliver - reviewed initial sounds of c.o.g and read nonsense words. Reviewed geometric shapes - worksheet matching object to shape. Used plastic monkeys and frogs to create addition/subtraction problems - used number lines to represent each problem. Discussed the earth - reviewed what it is made of - are these man-made or natural? What happens to natural materials when we discard them? what about manmade materials - how can we help the planet by recycling and re-using materials?
