Gwen and Stephen absent. Calendar, Discussed their trip to the fair and made a list of their favorite things. Reviewed all reading words - played'Word Hopscotch'. Gave them an aquarium filled with plastic frogs and fish. Sorted them and counted each group. Then grouped them by fives and tens. Read 'Pig, Pig, Goes to Camp' a story about frogs. Walked to pond to see if we could find some new tadpoles but it was all dried-up. Played with Quinn's aircraft carrier - turned it into different communities for frogs, dinosaurs, fish - explained that an animal's community is called its habitat. Painted with tempera. Played school and they each took a turn being the teacher. Played Number Bingo with 1-20.
Calendar-100 chart-Stephen: Days of Week train - Gwen,Quinn, Anna:Candy Land with color sight words. Social Studies: my community-family, neighborhood, school-city/town. This ended up being a discussion about all the different houses they each have - so we had to choose the house we live in the most- compared distances between places in our community.Quinn brought a small toy car with a video camera-took videos and watched them on the computer. Dance: Hokey Pokey, Freeze Dance,Scarf Dance. Read 'Mr.Miller's Monkeys'. Counted groups of plastic monkeys- Gwen wrote addition problems by joining two groups of monkeys together.
calendar- 100 chart, identifying 1-20 on board - Gwen - practiced printing 1-20. Quinn and Anna and Stephen counting groups of objects through 20. Gwen - addition problems with plastic dogs and cats. Stephen 'c' worksheet. Quinn/Anna/Gwen dragon board game with sight words.
Danced with scarves. Reviewed north and south on the map. Looked for New York, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. Identified their position to Florida and to one another. Quinn and Stephen - Days of Week train. Gwen/Anna - Leap Frog story. Read 'Arthur's Little Sister' discussed being oldest and youngest sibling.

Calendar – 100 chart – Days of Week – Months – Identifying numbers 11-20. Gwen addition worksheet using plastic frogs. Printing C - everyone. Stephen – identifying ‘c’ objects. Quinn reading word lists – Anna and Gwendolyn – read Wright Book.
Music /Dance/Drama – Sang ‘If You’re Happy…’, ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’. Learned ‘The Hokey Pokey’, Dramatic Story ‘Let’s Go on an Bear Hunt’.
Free Play – told them they had to create something while they were playing. Anna and Gwen played school and they created a new 100 chart all over the big white board. Stephen created a block house for his stuffed kitten. Quinn created a bridge out of tape that would save the cars when they ran off it because they would stick and hang until Fireman Stephen rescued them. Discussed how it would be nice to have real bridges that cars would stick to – i.e. Velcro, magnets.

Calendar – 100 chart – Months- Identifying numbers 11-20. Gwen-one digit addition numbers 1-5 – using cubes. Gwen and Stephen,Gwen, Quinn – printing letter C. Quinn reading ‘c’ words. Gwen and Anna –read new ‘Wright Book’ – introduced the new word ‘this’. Stephen –sound of ‘c’. Time for Kids – Martin Luther King and using map skills on ‘Sights of Washington, DC’ map. Stephen and Gwen enjoyed Spanish class. Read ‘Arthur’s Escape’ and comprehension worksheet.
