Addition: Danny played addition games racing cars, used the number line, and blew up balloons to find the correct answers. He did well with assistance, as needed. Good going, Danny.
Writing numbers 1-30, and adding single digits: Danny did a wonderful job today writing numbers. He needs a little more practice. We had fun with his birthday he knows it's in April but saying the tenth of April still hasn't registered yet. Good going, Danny.
Geometry shapes and figures: Danny had to draw rectangles, squares, triangles, and circles. He had to identify the the number of sides the shapes had. He also practiced the days of the week, months of the year, and the seasons. Good going, Danny.
addition using number line and seasons of the year
Lesson Outline
Addition using Number Line and Seasons of the Year: Danny was fun today writing numbers
1-10, and addition, using the number line. He named the seasons of the year with the song, then played, hid under the desk, for a few minutes till I found him. Good job, Danny.
Geometric Shapes: Ben identified squares, rectangles, circles, and triangles. He named the months of the year, days of the week, and watched a video on the seasons of the year. He had some difficulty remembering the 4 seasons, but he will get it soon. We sang the song together, "Days of the Week", he was intent as he sung, and I was off tune. Good job, Danny.
Left, right, up, down direction months of the year, add, subtract
Lesson Outline
Left, Right, Up, Down, Direction, Months of the Year, Add, Subtract: Danny had fun with directions and months of the year. He points to and reads aloud all the months, and has fun when he gets to December,(laughing) he looks at me and says DUC, out loud, instead of December.
I say, "Oh no not Duc, Danny." He laughs as we make a joke of it. He has been adding using the number line. It helps him say and mark the larger number on the line first then count the digits up to the second number. Great going, Danny.
Add and subtract using number line: Danny used the number line for addition and subtraction today. Example: 7 + 2. He practiced by placing the higher of two numbers (7) on the line then counting 2 positions over to find the answer 9. He did well with assistance. Good job, Danny.
Write Numbers and Sequencing Numbers: Danny did a great job today writing numbers mainly 3,4,5,8,and 9. He would sometimes reverse, write horizontally, or write backwards some numbers. We practiced them today to make those corrections. Also, he was given figures outlining cartoon animals in numerical order where he had to follow the sequence. This helped him to visually identify the numbers, up to 100, and to recognize their correct order. Super job, Danny.
Adding and Subtracting: Danny was given a series of addition and subtraction single digits. Example: 3 + 4, 7 + 3, 6 + 2, 5-2, 7-3. He came up with the correct answers most of the time using fingers or counting dots. Great going, Danny.
Addition and Subtraction: Danny worked on addition and subtraction using counting backwards and the number line. He did well with assistance, he had some difficulty writing the numbers,so we practiced using numbers in dotted format to follow. Good going, Danny.
