Addition and Subtraction: Danny worked on the number line to add single digit numbers. Choosing the highest of the two numbers starting on the number line then adding the second number by counting out the digits from that starting number. The game he played balanced various items, beds, washing machines, TV's, cars, etc. on top of one another, as he proceeded through problems, until they all came crashing down. Great going, Danny.
Adding and Subtracting Games: Danny was given problems requiring addition, subtraction, more, and less response. Each correct answer gave an item to stack on top of the previous item before they all tip and crash to the ground. His balancing act needed some help but his math response was good. Great going, Danny.
Addition: Using the number line Danny was given several single addition problems, e.g.
7 + 5 =12. Using the number line he would choose the larger number 7 then count 5 digits over to the 12. He has been counting all the digits starting from 1 before. Great job, Danny, you are so smart.
Addition: Danny said he had a good time during his holiday. We worked on addition today. He is able to add 2 single digit numbers by counting the dots above the numbers. We reviewed adding by calling out the larger of the two numbers first then counting the dots above the second number. He did very well, however, it was difficult for him to concentrate with his cold. Good job, Danny.
Locating numbers and Addition: Danny did a good job locating the missing numbers in a group of consecutive numbers and addition today. His addition is very good using the counting method of dots or other manipulatives. Very proud of you, Danny...
Addition: Danny worked on addition today. He knows how to count by adding each side to find the sum, starting from 1,2,3… then continue with the 2nd digit. I am trying to get him to say the larger number first then continue the count of the other number. He is getting it, but, the process is challenging for him. Example: Add 9 + 3. Say 9 then continue the count with 3 fingers up saying 10, 11, 12. I'm sure he will get it with practice. Very good day, Danny.
