Charlotte continues to have trouble getting prepared for this test. Yes, she has been sick, but she has not been doing the work I assign for her at home. Today in class she was not feeling well and it was very difficult to keep her focused and on task. She is not doing everything she can to get prepared and needs to really focus these last couple of days.
Once again, Charlotte did not complete all the work I asked her to do. She had a big cheerleading event and was too busy. I had a long talk with her about this week and just how much she has to do to prepare for Saturday. She's only done about a quarter of the vocab cards and hasn't really started to learn them. When we started to do the work on analogies, she saw why the vocabulary is important. Charlotte must commit to hard work for the rest of the week or she won't be prepared.

I think Cameron is in good shape for the test coming up. He's doing very well with the upper level math and now it's time to start fine tuning for the next two weeks. He did a good job with the 5 paragraph essays, and remembered what we had discussed way back at the beginning. He's been cranking on his vocab cards and should be in good shape.
Charlotte is doing well in class, but she's not doing all of the work out of class. She MUST start working on her vocab cards immediately! I keep stressing to her how important it is to work for the next two weeks, but she always has excuses.

We didn't get as much done today as I would have liked, but Cameron was having some troubles with factors, so I thought it best if we went back and reviewed the material. All in all, I think he's in great shape for the test next week. He continues do work hard and has a great attitude. It's been a pleasure working with him.

Charlotte had a good day today. She came in having completed all of the assignment and ready to work. She resisted a bit, insisting she didn't need to work on basic math, but once we got going she realized the review was good for her. She needs to be able to do the simple calculations quicker or she'll never finish the math sections on time.

Charlotte has a lot of work to do and a very short time to do it. She's covered for the 5 paragraph essay and has begun to work on her vocabulary cards. It is critical that she complete these as soon a possible. We started to work on math today and she's probably 2/3 of where she needs to be. She can work through most of the problems, but her issue is timing. So, we're starting with a basic math drills and working our way forward. She has problems with percentages and word problems, but with practice, she should be ok.
My goal all along has been to prepare Cameron for the parts of the test he can do well on. (i.e. lower level math and verbal) He's done a great job mastering that (although he's still having problems with percentages and fractions), and now it's time to focus on the upper level math. We've already gone over the material, but are now focusing on problems he hasn't covered in his class. Cameron continues to work hard and has a great attitude going into the last two weeks. I've spend a lot of time emphasizing his need to write out all of the problems and not try to do the math in his head. This will cut down on his mistakes.
It's been a while since we've worked on math so it is understandable that Cameron was a little rusty. But we got through two practice sections and he definitely improved as we moved on. With two weeks to go before the test, I think he's in pretty good shape.
