Lesson Comments
Sophia did very well today. Took her work very seriously. It was apparent that we need to work on her skills of analyzing U.S. map and states, since she is not well-versed with their names, capitals, or locations. This is a good skill to work on. She has a major test on Tuesday, for which I prepared I study guide. She will do well!

Omission of Truth
Lesson Outline
Sophia had read another 3 chapters since yesterday's class. She was prepared to discuss and analyze the content. Since one of the major themes in the novel is lying, we discussed the definition and consequences of omission of the truth, and its possible classification as a type of lying. As well, she was very interested in analyzing character motivation.

Lesson Comments
Homework is our biggest challenge. I try not to give her more than 20 minutes of combined reading and writing per day. If there is more, I give her 10 minutes in class to use, which she did industriously today.
