Sophia did an in-class assignment, where she first read the last 3 pages of the chapter independently, jotting down anything new and interesting she learned. She then presented this to me, in the form of a teacher. I then asked her to answer a more in-depth question: What were the pros and cons of farmers' economic dependency? She wrote an essay which I graded. Finally, she had to draw a political cartoon that humorously depicted a hardship of the West.
