Jackson proofread and edited four short paragraphs. His editing skills are steadily improving, and he is developing a sharp eye for identifying errors, including errors in punctuation, which, in the past, would have been a challenge.
We reviewed the definition of Economics. Then, Jackson provided reasons related to why people invest. We discussed short-term and long-term reasons. We talked about low risk/low reward verses high risk/high reward investments. We defined the Rule of 72 and applied the rule to a specific example about opening a savings account and how compound interest accrues from age 10 to age 82.2. Last, Jackson, reviewed a tutorial video related to the stock market game.

Lesson Comments
Jackson was very attentive today. There were some concepts that were challenging, but that did not deter him from attempting to answer question I posed, or providing relevant examples.
In this lesson, Jackson watched the Answers Academy video entitled Big Problems with the Big Bang. We then covered the lesson questions and discussed thoroughly.
Jackson and I watched videos of hitters. We watched them in slow motion so we could focus on the kinetic chain and how each movement unlocks another body part to move. We also stopped every hitter at the point of contact. I wanted him to recognize that even though everybody starts differently, most all are in the same position at the point of contact.
Jackson went through the seven-step poetry analysis for three poems. We first went in detail with "Cockpit in the Clouds." Jackson then listened to Billy Collins recite two of his poems about dogs, and we cursorily revisited the seven-step analysis for each of those, but we also discussed them and the stories they told in more detail.
