Jackson proofread and edited five paragraphs. He corrected errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling. This regular practice helps Jackson become a better writer because when he can recognize errors in others' writing, he is more likely to see his own mistakes.
Jackson completed a draft of his thesis statement for his research project. The next step was to identify potential, reliable, and authoritative sources for his research. He cataloged the sources that he found on the Internet.
Using our discussion from yesterday as a basis for his answer, Jackson responded to a short essay question about how the disabled would likely be treated differently today. We then continued to read the story and follow Charlie as he becomes more and more sure that he will regress and lose his intelligence.
We uploaded Jackson's handwritten rough draft onto a hard drive. We still have a way to go.

Jackson worked hard in starting to convert a hand-written rough draft to a double-spaced second draft on the computer. We are probably around thirty-five percent of the way to completing the upload. It is a bit frustrating for me to see him only one time a week. And now we're staring Spring Break in the face. Jackson is a very cooperative and highly-motivated student. But I feel like we need more time together (2 hrs/wk?) to make this work.
Jackson printed out a few more images for his project board. He was able to organize his visuals from general to more specific and apply them to the board today.
