Today we did an extra activity on prepositions of place. Also, we did an introduction to the verb to be ( form ser) and went over the conjugation and did exercises on describing people he knows, making sure to pay close attention to gender and number agreement while conjugating.
Observation by Advanc-Ed: we showed an example of an application of solving a quadratic equation that can't be factored. First, we approximated the values using Geogebra (relating solving the equation to finding x-intercepts or "zeros"), then we solved it algebraically (using the Quadratic Formula). Jackson used the graphing calculator to approximate the zeros created from the formula. There was also discussion about the sign of the leading coefficient and its effect on the graph (is it facing up? or facing down?).
Jackson and I began class with a discussion about how a disabled child like Charlie would probably have a different life experience in today's current environment, including access to education and social interactions. We then continued to read "Flowers for Algernon."
We discussed basic concepts of how air dynamics work with airplanes, helicopters and drones. We compared the way a simple drone with no control works to how a high level top technology drone works. We analyzed the technology involved for recent drones: Gyroscope, camera, GPS, WiFi connection, battery, etc. We discussed advantages and capabilities.

Students enjoyed the experience with the drone and preferred the one full of controls that makes them easier to fly without effort from the user plus it stabilizes the drone to help avoiding accidents.
Today we went over the family and vocabulary relating to family members. Also, we learned the prepositions of place and created a flashcard which will help us to remember them better. We sang a song about right.left and up.down.
Jackson first reflected on and wrote an answer to a question about Charlie being fired from his job for being too smart. We discussed what sort of loyalty a business has to an individual if that individual, even through no fault of his or her own, has an effect on both the staff and the customers. We spent the remainder of class reading the story.
design fundamentals. Jackson continues to work on his "pointillism" project of a fish design, He also started a new painting of a sail fish in the "monochromatic" style.
