I subbed for Johanna today, and as she didn't leave any work, I had Blaize work on the paper for my class. He had a lot of trouble getting started but seemed to hit his stride once he stopped trying to avoid working by talking to me.

We then had a solid discussion about the role Phoebe plays in Holden's life and why she is such an important character. I assigned Blaize on last paper in which he has to compare/contrast himself and Holden Caulfield.

Blaize had read one chapter for class today, so I had him read the next chapter in the half hour class and we talked about Phoebe and Mr. Antolioni in the second class. Blaize did a very good job in our discussion and is doing very well with the book overall.
