Blaize again did not work on the paper on his own time, and in class, tried to rush through just to get it done. He finished his first draft, but completely failed to follow the assignment. I asked him to compare and contrast the himself to Holden Caulfield, which he addressed in his thesis statement, but then all he did was give a character analysis of Holden. I gave him a choice, he could get graded on the paper as is, or he could go back and fix it for a better grade. He chose to fix it.
Blaize did not do any more work on the paper, but seems to be off to a good start. He had trouble focusing in class and didn't get as much done as I would have liked.

Another great session today. Blaize did some really creative things with his four way independence. He was playing some swing and shuffle patterns between his ride cymbal and his foot on the hi-hat while keeping the beat with his bass drum foot and snare drum hand. Very impressive.

Blaize's playing was great. He was really able to understand and implement the new triplet technique. His 4 way independence is also coming along very well.
