This will lead to a discussion of the segment addition postulate and allow us to look at situations that determine a unique plane, these include three noncolinear points, two intersecting lines, and two parallel lines. The assignment will be to look up these new concepts on the 11-page document.

We are making great progress in our study of geometry. We have already established a pattern for our sessions that I think will work real nicely, Kaitlyn knows how to learn remotely. She asks great questions, lets me know if an explanation is not clear, and has a great attitude.

We had a good discussion of the procedures, methods, and material that will be followed in this course. We determined that we will not use a textbook. We will have homework on a regular basis, a weekly quiz, and a test at the end of each quarter. We discussed the undefined terms and statements that are the basis of formal geometry. During today's session with James, a lengthy assignment involving similarity and congruence of various triangles and quadrilaterals was completed. this assignment was high complexity and James followed very well my explanations of specific problem-solving techniques and "evidence" of similarity. Since James and I begin our new full-time school and work schedules next week, we will coordinate a new tutoring session schedule that works for both of us.
