Topic 8 Solve Problems Involving Surface Area and Volume
Lesson Outline
Topic 8-4 Find Volume of Spheres – We learned that the volumes of the sphere and cone are proportionally related. The volume of a sphere is twice the volume of a cone that has the same circular base and height. The formula for the volume of a sphere is V = (4/3) pi r3 where r is the radius of the sphere.
Review for Pre-Algebra Final Exam: Final review of a wide range of key topics to be prepared for the Final Exam which includes: Operations with Algebraic terms, GCF and LCM, Ratios and Proportions, Two-Step Equations, and Exponent Operations. Aiden selected specific topics for me to review with him today and the extra practice/preparation should benefit him on the Final Exam scheduled for 2 class sessions tomorrow.

Topic 8 Solve Problems Involving Surface Area and Volume
Lesson Outline
Topic 8-4 Find Volume of Spheres – We learned that the volume of a sphere is the same as twice the volume of a cone that has a base diameter and height that is the same as the sphere diameter. Then we practiced finding the volume of a sphere given the surface area. We understand how to find the volume of a composite figure.
Assignment: Complete assigned problems for homework on finding the volume of a sphere.
Review of topics for Final Exam: Key topics to be covered and prepared for Final Exam includes Algebraic Operations, Distributive property, Surface Area and Volume, Ratios/Proportions, Conversions, Exponent Laws etc. Aiden took very good notes today on the topics identified in class to be prepared and reviewed for his P.A.
Final Exam which has been re-scheduled for this Friday 5/16.

Using your Pre-Algebra notebook, scan through the entire year's notes and identify which topics and/or example problems need to be further reviewed.
