We discussed organizational structure options and the pros and cons of each. JP did an in-class assignment and created a fictional digital fundraising campaign for the Red Cross.
We continued working on the in-class assignment on creating a unique social venture. JP worked on the business plan outline and started to make a hypothesis about the potential success of the plan.
We finished Ch. 5 and continued discussing how to select a social venture that will have an important purpose and impact. We watched a Ted Talk about Philanthropy and best practices.
Today we worked on taking data from surveys and putting together legible charts and graphs. J Paul was able to determine that his social venture idea needs some significant restructuring based on the results.
Today, we learned about community outreach and how to get people involved. J Paul watched a tutorial on how to use the graphic design platform Canva. He created an organic flyer for a charity give-back day.
Today, J Paul created a survey using the Likert Scale and passed it out to 10 willing participants. We collected the surveys and analyzed the data. When complete, J Paul will present the results and his determination of the success of the concept.
Today we began to read Ch. 5 "Developing a Strategic Plan for a Social Venture". J Paul answered questions from the text and summarized his project's strategic plan.
