Practice reading words then read sentences with corresponding words. Play matching game - one set of cards has a picture on it and the other set has the beginning or ending letters of the picture, for example, -ing matches picture of a ring or th- matches picture of a thumb, etc.

Practice x 6 tables on computer and on FF for word association. Maya did very well practicing her times 6 tables on the computer, she found several different sites for this lesson. She completed her module as assigned with accuracy. Good Job Maya.
Activity book 2c. Maya and teacher shared reading and discussion for response to questions asked in the Activity book 2C. She completed her assignment with accuracy and she was respectful and cooperative.

Maya reviewed her math homework from last night. This week has been very touch and go, as far as Maya's desire and effort to complete her lessons. Last week was the same, but I attributed that to the excitement of the holiday and going to NY for the weekend. I knew how excited she was about Halloween and dressing up in costume. It saddens me to see her less focused when I know how capable she can be, and how much pride she usually takes in completing her work and learning new ideas. I am not sure if there is something bothering her that I am unaware of. Maya began her test, but kept pausing and doing different things to waste time. I don't believe it was because she was unable to answer the questions, because she would change subjects before even attempting the next question. I am concerned and want Maya to enjoy coming to class. Perhaps there is something on her mind that I should know. She was only able to complete half of her test due to these circumstances. Maya continued her FF program, needing several reminders to keep working. Maya did not work in L-B, because I had hoped to have Maya complete her math test. She will complete this on Monday. I want her to achieve her goals. I know Maya is a very special person and I care very much for her. It saddens me when I do not see her being her happy self.
The second part of the activity, that we started on Tuesday is:
observe the mixture of water, soil, pebbles, and sand and write in the notebook. Compare the hypothesis with the observation and make a conclusion.
