Riddles/Shopping
Lesson Outline
Began class with five riddles I had the students read and solve. Then we started chapter 8 pg. 286 in the text. I introduced the vocabulary on shopping and trying clothes on. We compared and contrasted a bill when you go out to eat from last chapter to a receipt when you go shopping and how the vocabulary is different.

Lesson Comments
Students really enjoy reading riddles and have fun trying to figure out what is being described. They are very good at breaking down the words they know and work hard to figure out the words they do not in order to get the right answer.

Ashley's essay for Cal
Lesson Outline
Because the other two FS students were absent, I allowed Ashley to work on her paper for Cal. we talked about structure and syntax, but mainly she wrote and revised. I thought it was a good use of our one-on-one time so that she could get immediate practice onsomething that is important to her and not for *my* class (so she'll see the importance of English skills to all her subject areas).
