Today we threaded a needle and tried sewing by hand first and then we began working with the sewing machine. Elle tried several types of stitches like zig zag and others. She sewed nice straight lines.

Elle and I cut some fabric out and practiced sewing straight lines to get used to the new sewing machine.

Today we set up the new sewing machine. I taught Elle how to put the needle in and how to thread the machine. We practiced sewing on the heart shape we cut out before and created a pillow.

Today we drew a heart on paper and cut it out to make a pattern. We pinned it on the cloth and cut it out.

Today Gwendolyn learned how to make a button hole and worked on the pajama top.

Gwendolyn sewed the sleeve hem. She also cut the material for the collar and sewed it together. She did a very good job.

Gwendolyn sewed the sleeves today. Then she sewed the sides and shoulders of her blouse. She did very well today.

Today I taught Gwendolyn how to take measurements on her body to make a pattern. She cut out the blouse and the sleeves.

Gwendolyn completed her blanket that folds into a pillow. She worked hard and did a beautiful job.

Gwendolyn put the pieces of the quilt together and sewed them by herself. Then she worked on the pillow. She did an excellent job.
