I encouraged her to slow down and check her work rather than rushing through and trying to take short cuts. She is smart enough to come up with short cuts, but they sometimes cause her to make mistakes.

Piper has been out of school for a few days after having her wisdom teeth taken out. We went over the material that she missed and she quickly picked it up.
