Jack was very late to class, so we did not get to work on anything in class.

We played some songs on the electric keyboard, and played with some different rhythms using the percussion voices. We also did a challenge game by using the lighted keyboard to play melodic notes along to an accompaniment.

We worked on some half scales and finger exercises. Jack asked about how people with physical limitations or handicaps play piano, so we watched a few videos of some differently abled people playing fantastic music despite their physical limitations. It was a great lesson showing that if a person has music in their heart and soul, nothing can stop them from finding a way to express it.

We worked on two hand coordination, half scales, and full octave scales.

We did some finger coordination exercises playing half scales and chord patterns with both hands.

We started out playing basic scales and working on reading some simple songs from the Teaching Little Fingers to Play book. We spent some time playing on the electric keyboard.

We worked on reading some songs from the book, and we played with the electric keyboard. We worked on playing some different melody lines and talked about supporting chords for the melodies.
