Michael did well on the adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers worksheet that he completed for HW. He was struggling a bit on multiplying and dividing.

Michael was very interested in the election and had a lot of questions. So we did not go over the reading and instead discussed the election and what he could expect. Michael thought it was like a talent contest where to candidates stood on stage and the winner was announced. We talked about the process and the importance of the concession and acceptance speeches.

Michael is very interested in the election so we took today to talk about the results, what it means for the country and to analyze the speeches made for their content and purpose. Michael is getting better at developing his opinions, and we talked at length about why it is important to have them.

Seems to be gaining some new skills with spelling program. Diligent worker.

Michael did well on the order of operations sheets but struggled with the fractions/mixed numbers because he doesn't remember how to do them.

Because he was on the cruise all weekend, Michael didn't get any research done for his newspaper assignment. But we did read two essays and discuss each of them. Michael is finally starting to realize the need to develop his analysis further. We actually broke down the WWE (pro wrestling, which he loves) and talked about why he loves it so much. His first answer was "the violence", but I kept asking him "why", and I think he's finally starting to understand what I'm talking about.
