Michael is great in the discussion, but is still having a lot of trouble with the reading. He'll read a line and not understand its relevancy to the overall text. He's getting better with the characters, but still has a long way to go with reading comprehension. But again, our discussions are great and he is aways very interested and focused on what we talk about. I think he's truly understanding the theme of the clash of iconic symbols and attacking societal sacred cows, which is a good sign. We'll continue to work on the reading.
1)Michael and I revise and Expand upon the body paragraphs that he wrote for homework, using transitional words and phrases, examples, and narration to clarity and develop his ideas.

Michael and I did not get to read today as our discussion lasted the full hour, which I was very pleased with. We started off talking about Drummond and Brady is iconic symbols of the two sides they represent. We talked about religion and the ability to agree/disagree with the majority. And finally talked about the concept of "sacred cows" and the role they play in society. Michael was very interested in the conversation and we had a very good back and forth. He still having issues remembering the characters, but I stressed the importance of that to him and he's going to work on it.
Michael is having a really tough time remembering the characters and important themes of the play. He seems to be ok during our discussions, but every time I've asked him questions in review, he has a tough time recalling any of the information. I'm going to have him write a summary of the first act and paragraphs of character analysis when we finish.
