Lesson Comments
Michael has gotten better at working with fractions but still has trouble with some of the basics, such as reducing fractions. He problems correctly for a while, then forgets how and comes up with another method that isn't mathematically sound. I continue to review while adding new concepts that must be integrated with the ones that have already been covered.

Lesson Comments
Interestingly, Michael is doing much better with the characters and themes of this film than he has with anything else we've done. He is certainly very interested in the movie and is able to discuss the different characters (by name) and the role they play in the story. We again took part of the class to discuss the importance of details as a way of supporting ideas and statements.

Lesson Comments
Michael did try to prepare information about the wrestling story lines, but still had trouble with specific details. He'd written some things down, but again, only in very general terms. We again talked about the importance of being specific, and I told him that his weekly assignment is to give me very specific updates of what's going on in the wrestling world. (As far as I can tell, that's the only thing he's interested in.) We began watching A Bronx Tale, which is a very character driven story.
