I asked her to carefully edit her second essay and to pay close attention to all the small details of editing…sentence structure and punctuation, etc. after I edited it after class and E-mailed to her to finish. I asked her to read the essay aloud while editing. I told her we will be reading short stories for a while and writing as we go to learn.
Then we will read Les Miserables in play form. I will ask her to write a paper 3-5 pages in length where she comes up with a thesis. She will bring her computer and we will go through the databases to look for peer reviewed articles to help her with her writing and thesis. I will show her how use BibMe etc, create her citations for her paper.

Lesson Comments
Mary arrived at school 30 minutes late, but did not come into the yoga room for another 15 minutes, as she said she needed to email something to her teacher. She did bring in her completed take-home test that was assigned to her nearly 3 weeks ago. It's possible that she was completing it in her room during our class time. We discussed her excellent performance during class, but addressed her many absences and tardies, which has prevented us from doing many planned activities.

Lesson Comments
Mary continues to leave problems unfinished. Though she knows how to solve the problems, she often "forgets" to write the answer after doing all of the work. It may be a focus issue. She seems to be able to give the actual answer when asked.
