Mary really showed understanding in this section. There are several fundamental concepts that she did not know when we began SAT prep early in the year that she is now able to use to solve problems.
Write essay in response to question: In chapter 27, how do you explain Jane's refusal to go with Mr. Rochester? Consider her self love and own private morality, along with the received Christian morality of her society.

Mary started off with one Jane Eyre book. she left it at home and never found it again, so I gave her a new one out of the cupboard. She left that one at home and therefore had no book to work with today. I gave her a writing assignment instead. I told Mary that at this point I am worried about having her take the AP exam because she simply hasn't read enough. I do not want her to have a bad experience.

I asked her to tie in how Dumas ties the historical elements of the times with the drama in his story. We went to the computer room where she was productive. She will bring in her other essay tomorrow.
Mary and I talked a little more today. I thanked her for sharing with me yesterday. She mentioned that she has just shared this information with Sheilagh and I.
